Entertainment in St Ives

What's to do

Pubs

The main street in St Ives is awash with pubs reflecting the towns long status as a stop-over on the main road to London.  Great pubs include the Golden Lion, Nelson's Head, The White Horse, Floods Tavern and more. There's about 20 pubs within walking distance of Meadow Park. There's even one called "The Seven Wives". Most pubs offer food from fine dining to pub grub. St Ives isn't a town where you are likely to go thirsty.

Clubs and Bars

The St Ives club scene is a little limited. Music Box in Crowne Plaza opens 9:00pm to 2:00am. There's also Club Ice and the LEL social club which offer live music and dancing. A bit further afield there a few in Huntingdon but the real local scene is in Cambridge or Newmarket which have a huge range of clubs and bars for all tastes. Burgess Hall also hosts comedy nights, dances and other entertainment.

Restaurants and Take Aways

There are lots of restaurants to choose from other than the pub eateries. There's the usual plethora of Chinese, Indian and Pizza joints, both to eat in and to take home. Some deliver locally too. Other places to eat are the Riverport Grill (Manor mews - the oldest residence in St Ives),  For Italian there's a choice of Molise or Amore. For snacks and light lunches there's the Taproom on Bridge Street, Nuts Bistro and Tom's Cakes in the centre. A little further afield is the excellent "The Cock" in Hemingford Grey down by the river.. It has a small bar,/pub a first class restaurant and a garden for the summer.

Cinema

The local cinema is "Screen St Ives" which hosts irregular films shows in the local Corn Exchange. Worth looking at what's on as its only a short walk (the Pavement) right in the centre with tickets as little as £5.00. There's a Cineworld in Huntingdon and three major cinemas in Cambridge.

Local Productions

The Simads is the local drama society who put on 2-3 productions a year in Burgess Hall (lesiure complex) on Westwood Road.
